Eventually, what ends up happening is that the Tortoise ends up winning the race because while the Hare had a strong lead over the Tortoise, he did not cut any corners and continued on the race while the Hare became lazy in the middle and took a nap. The moral of the story is that slow and steady wins the race.

Eventually, when a wolf actually appears, and the boy calls for help, the townspeople refuse to believe the boy and think it’s another false alarm, and the wolf ends up eating the sheep. The moral of the story is that no one trusts a liar even if they tell the truth.
